With his interpretation of Figaro in "Le Nozze di Figaro" at the International Singing Competition of the Rheinsberg Chamber Opera, Manos Kia was nominated as Young Artist of the Year 2013 in the opera world magazine.

In recent seasons, Manos Kia has been a regular guest at the Staatsoper Berlin, Staatstheater Braunschweig, Staatstheater Mainz, Theater Kiel, Oper Halle, Stadttheater Bremerhaven, Theater Winterthur (CH), the Neue Eutiner Festspiele and the "Copenhagen Operafestival". There he interpreted various specialist roles, such as Papageno in "Die Zauberflöte", Marcello and Schaunard in "La Bohème", Dancairo in "Carmen", Figaro in "Le Nozze di Figaro", Kaspar and Ottokar in "Der Freischütz", Mr. Ford in Verdi's "Falstaff" and many more.

From the 2016/17 to 2018/19 season, Manos Kia was a member of the ensemble at Theater Nordhausen. There he appeared in major roles such as Marcello in "La Bohème" and G. Germont in "La Traviata".

In the 2021/22 season, Manos Kia sang again at the Neue Eutiner Festspiele as Schaunard in "La Bohéme". He also made a guest appearance as Marcello in "La Bohème" at the Staatstheater Darmstadt in a production by Wolfgang Nägele under the musical direction of GMD Daniel Cohen.

Manos Kia is also in demand as a concert soloist. He has already sung major oratorios and symphonies in his field several times in the Berlin Philharmonie and Konzerthaus Berlin, such as G. Rossini's "Petite Messe Solenelle", G. Mahler's Symphony No. 8 of the 1000 or the bass solo in Mozart's Requiem. In March 2023, the baritone performed G. Mahler's "Lieder eines fahrenden Gesellen" for the first time at the Laeiszhalle Hamburg.

 

Manos Kia is currently making a guest appearance at the Staatstheater Braunschweig as Schaunard in "La Bohéme". Future concerts include the Christmas Oratorio by J.S. Bach in the Kulturkirche Altona (HH), as well as the bass solo in Verdi's Requiem in the Berlin Philharmonie.
